I Know You Feel Like Your World is Crumbling…

I’ve been there.

I have days where I feel like I’m on top of the world, like I am living life! Then I have others where I feel so alone and so lost, I feel like I could die. That’s the truth and sometimes the truth sucks. But I do not believe I am suffering alone. I think their are many other people out there who feel the same and oh, how I wish I could hug those people and remind them things will be alright because they will.

If you are one of those people like this or you know someone like this please show them this message.

“Hey I know you feel all over the place and you feel like you’re going crazy. I do too. But you’re not. You are doing amazing and you will be okay. On the days that are rough, remember the good days. Remember that it’s not permanent. Try to get through it however you can. Do something you love that day and say some positive affirmations in the mirror to yourself. I know it sounds silly but it helps. I know on my bad days I take any help I can get. Also, on your good days enjoy them. Don’t think or worry about having a bad day. We can fix that when it happens, for now enjoy this beautiful day. You deserve it. You aren’t fighting this battle alone. You’ve got this. You can overcome anything. You’ll never be alone. I love you. You’ve got this.”

Thank you to whoever is reading this. I hope it helps you or the person your showing it to.

I love you.

Someone asked me why am I on social media, here is my response.

Now, I know most of us are on social media and yes even you reading this is most likely on it as well. So, I have never really had someone ask me why I AM on social media so, when proposed this question I sat for a second and really thought about it. I have always had a reason I was on their, meaning I always had a type of goal in mind. I’ve always had an idea on what I wanted to achieve. So, I sat for a good amount of time and this is what I came up with.

I want to first start out by saying my opinion on social media. Personally, I LOVE social media. I think it’s a great way to make connections and build a community with others but ( there’s always a but there ) I think it can be a very dark place at times. It can be filled with love and community but it also can be filled with hate and bullies. It’s like a Ying Yang symbol. If you want the good you also get the bad. It’s just like all of us in real life. We have good in us and bad. But anyway, I love social media for the good and the bad because yeah the bad is most of the time really bad but the good is always REALLY GOOD. I, personally, think it’s worth it. You get to make these amazing relationships with people and build this community that’s with you wherever you go. It’s such a wonderful experience to be able to communicate with nearly anyone.

So, when asked why I am on social media I said “ I am on social media because I love it. I do. Very much. I think it’s such a wonderful place to expand relationships and knowledge. I am also there personally to inspire young women to be themselves and not conform to what social media has deemed “normal” or “popular”. I hate the thought of young women sitting at home thinking they aren’t good enough because of this society and what they deem to be “normal”. I know exactly how that feels to feel like you aren’t good enough or pretty or smart or worth it. I really do and it hurts, a lot. To feel that way because of someone else’s opinion is not okay. We must be ourselves and lift each other up. We must stay true to ourselves and rise above it all. Show the world who YOU are. You deserve it.”

I hope one day someone comes across this post and something in my words resonates with them. Something inside them shifts and they start to be their authentic selves and they will stop letting society dictate who they are meant to be.

I hope that someone is you.

Being Selfish Isn’t Always a Bad Thing

Yeah, you read that correctly.

It isn’t bad to think of yourself once in awhile. We live in a people pleasing world, where everyone is trying to make everyone happy. Most of the time we forget about our own happiness. We forget what it’s like to take care of ourselves and that’s really bad for our mental health.

It’s okay to do what’s best for yourself and think about your dreams.

Take time out of your day for yourself. Do something you like or make a list of goals. Take a bath, read a book, paint, write, etc. Do anything you like to do.

Once you start doing that daily, you will start feeling a lot better about yourself. You will see your mood drastically change. Also, your mental health will improve as well.

So, take some time for yourself.

Anxiety: How To Deal With It

How do I even begin to explain what anxiety is like. I’ll give it a shot. It’s like being underwater and knowing that you can go up for air but not being able to. It’s the worst thing.

The worst part about it is that you never know when it’s going to pop up. It’s like one moment you are fine and the next you feel like you can’t breathe, even though you know you can.

My first anxiety attack happened about a year ago. I was riding in a car with my husband and I started feeling like there were bugs on my legs. I started feeling this sensational itch and it started just on my legs and then it started spreading throughout my entire body. It consumed me to the point where I was scratching so hard at my skin that I was about to bleed. I had no idea how to control it. I had no idea what to do with it but it was terrifying and I definitely wish I would’ve known what to do. Luckily I was able to go to the hospital and get medication to treat it.

Now I know medication is not for everyone and you definitely shouldn’t rely on it either. I rarely take my medicine because I have found ways to manage and control my anxiety.

Now these ways may not work for everyone but they will work for some.

Tip #1:

Breathing.

I know sounds simple right? Wrong. When you have an anxiety attack you only focus on the attack itself. That’s it. You can’t think, talk, or do anything. But breathing is essential because what happens with an anxiety attack is your nerves are through the roof, you’re very emotional, and you’re very panicky. You’re under distress so, breathing just isn’t on your mind when it happens but it should be. Taking deep breaths in and out allows your heartbeat to slow down and calm your nerves. Whether you realize it or not the panicking and nerves are what causes the anxiety attack. You can make that go away with deep breaths in and out.

Tip #2:

Distraction

I have found being distracted does exactly that, distracts myself from the attack. So, say for me my legs started itching and that sparked my anxiety attack so, a distraction takes my mind off the itch and allows me to control it and not let it consume me. So, when you feeling anxious try to find something to do. Something that you enjoy or hate, up to you. Just find anything that you can put your all in and focus on that. It really helps.

Tip #3:

Slowly Counting

Count to 10 even 20 if you need to. This allows your mind to focus on one simple task. It really makes a difference. It allows you to get a grip on the anxiety and release it.

I hope these tips helped you. I know they make a huge difference for me! Anxiety is terrible and a lot of us suffer from it, whether we know it or not. I hope you find a way to cope with anxiety and relieve it. I hate that anyone has to suffer from it but if I can help in anyway I will. If you ever need someone to talk to about it, feel free to reach out. I hope it gets better.

Mornings

Some of my morning thoughts consist of thinking about my entire day all in the blink of an eye. Sounds crazy right? Well, I know.

I am a planner at heart. I love to have my days planned down to the very minute. It’s relaxing to me because I can always be prepared. But the downside to being a planner is that I’m never gonna be able to plan out my entire life. Sometimes I’m going to have to live with not knowing what’s going on and do what my husband does, go with the flow.

Just the thought of ‘going with the flow’ makes my heart skip a beat and not in the good way. I know I’m not the only one here who is like this. I think it’s something we as humans struggle with everyday and some have found a way to cope and others.. not so much.

We need to allow ourselves the freedom to just simply live, to enjoy our lives for the crazy, rollercoaster mysteries that they are.

So, today and everyday I encourage you to take a step back and allow yourself that freedom. Take a breath and say “Everything is gonna be alright.”

Because it will.

Starting something new

Starting something new is always exciting. It really is but their is a downside to it all: the unknown. Not knowing how this new thing is going to go is what’s the scariest. A million thoughts run through your mind, like ‘Will I fail?’, ‘Is this even worth it?’ etc. I, personally, always hated change. I hated not knowing things, ya know?

I suffer from anxiety as well. So, it makes change a little rough. I have learned to adapt though. I have found methods of accepting change and not letting my anxiety from it control me. I hope others out there who suffer from anxiety can use some of the methods that I will list in my next post to release that weight and strain anxiety puts on your mental, emotional, and physical health.

Just know you can make it through anything and you’re not alone.
